Tennis

I went on the two interviews on Monday and Tuesday.  The first was for the apparel sales rep position and it was very informal.  We talked for a few minutes and he said I would fit in with the company well and that was it.  He said he was interviewing about 100 people including several experienced people in the industry so I get the feeling he is just interviewing a bunch of people as a formality and will hire who he likes in the industry.

Tuesday was the analyst position.  It really just sounds like a collection agent with refunds thrown in the mix.  Doesn't sound at all like something I want to do.

Went and played tennis for 3 hours yesterday.  After the embarrassment of Saturday I was a little worried.  I hit the wall for 10 minutes before the practice session and still felt like I couldn't hit the ball.  When I got to the practice session things started coming together.  I started hitting the ball well.  Played a set of doubles with the instructor and I was crushing the ball.  It felt great.  I hit some more errors than I would have liked but it was more a matter of missing the lines and overhitting that not being able to hit the ball at all.  A good day of tennis.

The tour has gotten more interesting this week but another doping scandal hit the tour today.  One of the riders who was killing it in the mountains tested positive.  It's just stupid.  How can one expect to kill it and be on the dope and not expect to get caught.  Frustrating to watch the craziness again.

I have another interview tomorrow for a bookkeeper position with a travel company.  Looks to be a cool company as they package trips for cheap to resorts around the world.  I need to not talk my way out of it and just do my best.  I hate when the HR manager asks about salary requirements.  I always feel like I'm leaving money on the table that way.  I'd rather just know what they are paying.
