Tennis

Posted by Tim

It was an all right weekend.  Not great.  I rode with the Swami's ride yesterday and hung on this time to the halfway point at the church.  I was up in the front group and actually got 5th in the sprint which felt like an accomplishment since I haven't even been there at the end to sprint up till now.  On the way home I broke another spoke in my front wheel this time and that lead to another $75 to get the wheel rebuilt.  Should be like new wheels now as both will have all new spokes.

Last night I went with my roommate to El Torito and overate as usual.  It's crazy out here as when I order enchiladas, they put about 4-5 actual small bits of cheese on top of the enchiladas.  Nothing like in Texas where they smother the enchiladas in cheese melting off the sides.  It's like eating a dry tortilla with a little sauce on top with chicken or cheese inside.  Not very good.  I topped it off with a fried ice cream.  Good stuff.

This morning I went out with a group that meets at the Carlsbad High School to play tennis.  Quite a few people show up and it looks like fun.  Since I've only played a handful of times in the last 10 years, I was needless to say very rusty.  I couldn't even get the ball in and most went to the fence.  I was very embarrassed and knew it was going to be like that.  One of the guys told me about a wall to hit on so I left and went and hit for about 30 minutes on the wall.  I used to be pretty good in college so I'll get it back but it will take a little time.  It was fun and I can feel the fire to play again.  Need to get some new shoes, however, as my feet must be larger now.  My shoes are extremely tight and killed my feet.

Tomorrow is my interview with the apparel company.  Hope it looks promising and like a great place to work and a good job.  Going riding in the morning.  Need to burn off all the calories I ate this weekend.  Now I'm watching to tour in the mountains and it is getting more interesting.  Still relatively boring this year to me.
