I've been taking it easy the last few days with Sean D. and the family. They have really been inspiring me to eat naturally and organically as that is how they eat. I've read all the books such as Jordan Rubin's Heal Thyself, Blood Type Diet, Skinny Bitch, etc. which espouse natural eating but I haven't been doing a good job of it myself.
With starting over geographically I also want to start over with the foods I eat as well. I really do eat a lot of crap at times and it's time I got back in shape on the inside and the outside.
I went on a crazy hard ride yesterday afternoon in Pasadena. I got there early and waited around for people to show. We took off with around 8 of us and they were all great guys. The first few minutes in we were hitting 25-28 with light after light stopping the flow. We finally made it to the mountain and the fun began. A strong guy positioned himself at the front and just started drilling it up the start of the climb. I tried to stay with him for some reason and only lasted a few minutes. Unlike in Dallas where after about 20 seconds the climb is over, we kept going and going, up and up. I thought I was going to pass out. We finally made it to the top as we regrouped and I straggled on. I was then informed that that was the short one and the next one was way longer and more difficult. I was not disappointed.
I pretty much got pounded but I'm totally not used to long hills and I've only been riding 1-2 days per week. Not enough to hang with serious guys on their own terrain.
