I went to the recycling center this morning and cleaned out the entire passenger floorboard of the car full of empty bottles. Great place as they take everything. I then went to EconoLube to get my oil changed. It wasn't so econo as it was $36.06 drive out. In Dallas it was $22 and included a free car wash. It used to be the only time I got the car washed.
After the necessary oil change I went to Rubio's for a burrito, my 10th or so of the week. I'm quickly getting tired of them. The guy I'm close to renting a room from calls and notifies me that his kid freaked out when she found out he was going to get a roommate. He's not sure what is truly behind her feelings and her reaction was totally unexpected. Needless to say he is putting the roommate idea on hold for now and I'm back to the drawing board. It sucks as I was really looking forward to getting established and settling into the awesome place. Honestly now that I can't rent it I want it even more. Crazy human nature. At the least I think we can be friends. He's a cool guy.
I went back and moved rooms at the Motel 6, back into the room on the end where I'll hopefully get some sleep. I took off on a bike ride up the coast towards the North this time and within 15 minutes I broke a spoke in my rear wheel. I couldn't ride the bike at all. I took off my shoes and walked in my socks to the bus stop up the street. I waited for quite a while when this cool 23 year old kid came to the stop and we talked for a while. He gave me the $2 fare as I had no money and I thanked him immensely. A really good kid who seems to be reaping in life what he sows. He used to work at a pizza place before a business owner offered him a job at a Biotech company. One never knows.
Not the best of days but I guess they happen. At least Nytro was able to fix my wheel right before closing so I can ride tomorrow morning with the Swami's group. I didn't get much riding in this week again but we'll see. I'm ready to go to sleep and just get the day over with.
